Maria C. Asis
M.D., FACOG
Dr. Asis attended Tufts University, where she graduated magna cum laude and also graduated from Tufts School of Medicine in 1989. During her education, she also worked as a research assistant in the Department of Reproductive Endocrinology at Yale Medical School.
From 1989 to 1993, Dr. Asis did her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center. Upon graduating in 1993, she came back to New Haven to join her father, Dr. Jose Asis, in private practice at Asis Medical Associates. Generations ObGyn was formed on July 1, 2012 as a result of the merger of Asis Medical Associates and ObGyn of North Haven.
She maintained an interest in reproductive medicine and infertility and has expanded that interest to include menopausal issues. To this end, she has lectured, is a member of the North American Menopause Society (NAMS) and obtained status in 2017 as a Certified Menopause Practitioner within the Society. In 2016, Dr. Asis received the Medical Student Teaching Award from Yale New Haven Hospital.
Dr. Asis is a diplomat of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a member of the New Haven Obstetrical Society.
